Thanks For Life Collection - Waitrose West Ealing

21/02/2010

The Rotary Club of Hanwell and Northfields kicked off Rotary Week with a collection at Waitrose in west Ealing where we collected £758.

Rotary Week takes in Rotary's 105th birthday on Tuesday the 23rd February and celebrates the significant achievements seen in the last 105 years.

All funds collected will be going to purchase Polio vaccine as part of the challenge that Rotary has taken on to finally rid the world of Polio.

We need to say a VERY BIG THANK YOU to Nick Abell, Store Manager at Waitrose and his team for all of their support for this campaign.

Not only did they allow us to collect over the weekend, but they also provided 1,300 Bags for Life, Waitrose Magazines, fruit juices and pieces of fruit as part of our Thanks for Life initiatives with local schools.

We also need to say an equally BIG THANK YOU to Walker Books who donated some 3,000 books which also went in to the Goody Bags.
